    Description

    Old Paris Gold Floral Cobalt Lion Head Handle Empire Form Cup & Saucer C.1810-30
    Beautiful antique Old Paris / Vieux Paris empire form chocolate cup with gilt bisque lion's head at the top of the handle and saucer. Decorated with a Neoclassical gold floral design over a cobalt blue background. Heavy gold gilding around the top of the cup on both the inside and outside of the cup, around the foot rim of the cup, and gold gilding to the handle. Both the cup and saucer are marked with a red R that I have not been able to identify. Probably circa 1810 to 1830.
    Has some wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition.
    The cup measures approximately 3 1/4 inches wide including the handle x 3 7/8 inches tall.
    The saucer measures approximately 5 inches wide.
    This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.
