    Description

    From a local estate, here are eight very rare English transferware fruit or dessert bowls in the Fountain pattern.  They were made by W. Smith & Co., Stockton-on-Tees, Yorkshire, England between 1825-1855.  They measure 5 1/4" round and are 1 1/8" high.  Marked as shown in photo four.  All are in good condition for their age, no chips, nicks or cracks.  There is some fine crazing consistent with age.  A fabulous addition to any collection.
